Course content
1. Factors influencing tourism development. 2. Economic and Political contributions of tourism. 3. The Destination Environment: physical, socio-cultural, economic. 4. Tourist Destination Areas: the regionalisation process, growth and development. 5. Introduction of destination types- developing and developed economies, urban and rural zones. 6. Nature of tourism destinations and their planning, management and development. 7. Management of tourist destination. 8. Marketing of tourist destination. 9. Communication plan, media and non-media communication strategy of destination management. 10. Process of strategy development. 11. Theoretical approaches to the destination as product. 12. Destination superstructures and infrastructures. 13. Crisis management in destinations.
